GreenPowerMonitor has been selected to monitor and control the largest photovoltaic plant in Latin America. It is a 254MW solar farm located in the state of Bahia (Brazil).
The PV plant will be able to generate over 550 GWh a year, enough to meet the annual consumption needs of more than 268 thousand Brazilian families, and will avoid the emission of 185,000 tons of CO2/year.
This Brazilian plant is the third largest plant managed by GreenPowerMonitor, just behind Mount Signal Solar plant (266MW in California, USA) and the 2nd phase of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum solar park (260MW in Dubai, United Arab Emirates).
GreenPowerMonitor started its international expansion in South America in 2013 from where the company developed a successful strategy in LATAM with a current portfolio of more than 900MW.
