Back in 2014 the Woman Engineering Society launched the “Woman Engineering Day” on 23 June. Such an event is recognized by the UNESCO and is designed to raise the profile of women who are excelling in engineering, as well as to inspire future generations of female talent to enter the profession.
The company group vision implies also to ensure woman’s full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of the decision-making process.
GreenPowerMonitor (GPM) is proud to have a bunch of female engineers specialized in the energy industry. Currently, GPM counts more than 20 women working in different aspects of the organization, from logistics to marketing, from sales to software development; this is just a little glimpse into the many incredible things our experts are doing to advance the future of energy.
Here are some of our expert engineers working towards a greener energy transition:
Elif Abaslioglu – She studied Physics at Yildiz Technical University, Istanbul (YTU) and she owns an MSc. in Energy Engineering from the Polytechnical University of Catalunya with major in Photovoltaics. Elif joined GPM as Key Account Manager in October 2016. Since February 2018, she’s leading the integration of Wind Technology in GPM’s Portfolio and since May 2019 she continues her journey in the company as Project Manager & Wind Coordinator.
Anna Aguilar – She’s a Computer Engineer with more than 16 years of experience in software development – almost 8 in GPM, working on the development of GPM Plus and GPM Horizon software. A couple of years ago Anna became team leader of the GPM Horizon, Storage, software developers.
Elia Casas – She graduated in BEng Industrial Engineering in Polytechnic University of Catalonia and has an MSc in Product Engineering and Energy Efficiency from Kingston University London. Elia has more than 4 years’ experience in Software Product Management; She’s currently the Product Owner of GPM Horizon, Storage, defining the strategy and the implementation of the Solar and Storage Product Monitoring solutions together with the other Product Team members.
Elena Cobos – She owns Marine Engineering and Naval Engineering degrees from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. She has previous experience in the naval industry before to join in 2019 GPM as Service Engineer in the service department.
Claudia Di Tullio – She owns a BS in Energy Engineering and an MS in Renewable Energies from the University of Rome, Stockholm and Barcelona. She took part in different projects related to energy access and sustainability in developing countries, like Sri Lanka and Perú and it is currently an active member of the InnoEnergy Community, a community empowering like-minded individual from 90+ countries passionate about sustainability and innovation in the energy sector. Currently, she’s Project Team Member at GPM, working on small and large solar and wind power plants monitorization.
Angie Fonseca – She’s finished Marine Engineering and Naval Engineering degrees at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in 2017 and 2018, respectively. Angie incorporated on Green Power Monitor in December 2018, where she started working as Project Team Member on Project Management Department, involved in projects for the monitoring and control of solar plants. She recently was promoted as Project Manager at the same department, where she takes part in executing photovoltaic projects of SCADA systems.
Elyany Garzón – She owns a Computer Systems Engineering degree and has more than 6 years’ experience in the area of Quality Software Assurance (QA) area, guaranteeing software quality, implementing best testing practices, acting throughout the software development life cycle, and performing different types of tests. She joins GPM last year, being currently the first female software engineer tester in the QA group.
Sofia Guerra – She owns a BS in Electrical Engineering, with a major in Power Systems at the Simón Bolívar University, in Venezuela and an MS in Electrical Energy Conversion and Power Systems at the University of Oviedo, in Spain. In GPM she’s Senior Power System Engineer in the Grid Integration Team, where she’s in charge of monitoring and developing dynamic simulation studies. This work verifies grid code compliance on each country and validates the photovoltaic plants’ interconnections to the network.
Laura Loza – She’s a Mechanical Engineer who is currently specializing herself in Renewable Energies at the University of Barcelona with a thesis about hydropower plants. Laura has also been working for 2 years in the engineering field related to the reduction of particulate emissions to the atmosphere and improvement of air quality in industrial work environments. She joined GPM in January 2020 as Scada Project team member.
Laura Roch –She has an MS in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnical University of Catalonia. Laura joined GPM almost 5 years ago. She started as Key Account Manager (KAM), in the Service department, and since the beginning of 2019, she has promoted KAM Coordinator.
