From April 2017 in the region of Kyushu (Japan), it is mandatory that the Utility must be able to control the production of photovoltaic plants and also the existence of a specific protocol demanded by local authorities.

Recently, GreenPowerMonitor has successfully installed a GPM Power Plant Controller (microserver) at a Kikuchi PV plant in order to comply with the new regulations.

The aim of the project was to install GPM Power Plant Controller (PPC) and a Hardware solution into the plant to allow the Utility to regulate the power of the inverters and implement a protocol regulation.  GreenPowerMonitor developed the project alongside Solarig Japan, EPC of Kikuchi solar plant.

Previous tests in Valencia (Spain) were positive and successful by obtaining the official validation certificate from KYUDEN (Kyushu Denryoku), Utility of the Kyushu region.

GreenPowerMonitor has become one of the first foreign companies to be officially considered as a provider of power regulation solutions in Japan.

This official qualification places GreenPowerMonitor as a reference company in Japan. Besides, we are so glad to collaborate with Solarig Japan. We are very proud and grateful to be able to put our technology to the service of new projects “said Juan Carlos Arévalo, CEO of GreenPowerMonitor.

This is a particularly important milestone for GreenPowerMonitor, which has a portfolio close to 150MW in Japan and a constant growth in the country since 2014.
